Session name: Universal
School exclusion training: LA Representatives
Session code: LA01
Who is this training for?
Local Authority representatives who usually work in an inclusion team or service (or similar name) and required to undertake a range of duties on behalf of their council when notified of a permanent exclusion in a school or pupil referral unit.
This session is ideal for LA staff who are new to role and going through an induction process, or who have very brief or no knowledge of statutory exclusions guidance.
The session gives an opportunity to explore what happens at a meeting where governors consider a pupil’s exclusion, and the role the LA representative plays before, during and after the meeting.
There will also be a focus on the independent review process, and what an LA representative may experience.
