This session focuses on preparing governors for a pending meeting with the Headteacher and parents to consider reinstatement of a pupil who has been permanently excluded. The session also covers cases where a pupil has been suspended and it triggers a legal duty for governors to meet.

This session covers the key strategic duties for governors as set out in statutory guidance, including scrutiny and analysis of data, policies and day to day practice in their school. This session is not designed to prepare governors/trustees to consider a suspension or permanent exclusion.
